Board Members
Susan L. Anderson In his first official action as governor, Edward G. Rendell signed an Executive Order establishing the new cabinet-level Office of Health Care Reform and the Governor’s Health Care Reform Cabinet and appointed Susan Anderson as chief of staff and deputy director of the office. Prior to this position, she was a principal in the investment and consulting firm of GRECOventures Ltd. In October 2002, Ms. Anderson was elected to the National Board of Girl Scouts of the United States of America. She serves as a national board liaison and a member of the Councils Committee. Ms. Anderson also is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital.
Leslie Stiles was appointed by Governor Edward Rendell to serve as executive director of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women. Prior to this appointment, she served as the director of marketing for the National Constitution Center and as vice president at First Union Bank and Corestates Bank, managing the marketing for the commercial and international sides of the business. She serves as a founding board member of the Philadelphia Marion Anderson Award, an organization that focuses on community investment programs, and Ms. Stiles bestows its award for artistic and humanitarian achievements. She has also been honored for her work with the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Buddy Program and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Karen Farmer White is currently the vice president of education at WQED Multimedia. She is responsible for the creation, development and implementation of educational programs for WQED Multimedia television, radio, publishing and Internet services. She is also completing her doctoral studies in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, where she earlier earned a master of public administration degree and a B.A. Prior to joining WQED Multimedia, Ms. White was executive director of the Program to Aid Citizen Enterprise. She is a graduate of The Leadership Pittsburgh Program and has received many awards for her service to the community. She also serves as a role model and mentor for many in the community.
