The conference was a smash hit and the speaker selections were fantastic! The energy was overwhelming and showed real excitement and enthusiasm. I give it an A+.

I enjoyed every aspect of this diverse conference, which represented multiple cultures, races, ages, socio-economics, religions, languages, and politics. This was an excellent event that demonstrated the knowledge and skills of women, and provided a wealth of resources, networking opportunities, and support for the attendees. Thanks again, and I look forward to participating in the next Pennsylvania Governor’s Conference for Women.

The Pennsylvania Governor's Conference for women was an experience I will never forget. There is something about being in a large conference facility larger than three football fields filled with women that you received energy just from physically standing there.

In some ways, I felt totally inadequate in such a large group of women leaders who are doing so much for their businesses, communities, and families that it was overwhelming. What have I done? Why am I special? I had the feeling I did not deserve to be in the same room with such powerful women.

On the other hand, the conference was totally uplifting. If this woman can be successful, why can't I? It does not matter how one measures success; each person can determine their own goals, dreams, and aspirations and work toward achieving them.

From the keynote speakers to the vending areas, everything about the day was totally about taking time to evaluate one's own path in life. As a result of the conference, I have been more open about my own goals and discussing them in a professional manner with my current supervisor. I have been open with people whom I considered as mentors and told them how much I have appreciated their advice and direction over the years. I have also mentored other young professional women who are just starting their careers to assist them in any way possible.

In the 2006-2007 academic year, Point Park University awarded a scholarship to a deserving young woman leader who attended the 2006 conference as well. She was recognized along with several other college students as being an outstanding young person with much potential achieved to date and much more potential to be developed. Point Park University's commitment to the Pennsylvania Governor's Conference for Women in providing scholarship and conference funds to young women allows the next generation to be inspired to become tomorrow's leaders.

At First Commonwealth, our experience with the Pennsylvania Governor's Conference for Women was absolutely phenomenal! This event sparked numerous ongoing initiatives aimed at helping women improve their lives, their careers and their financial prowess, both inside our company as well as throughout the communities we serve. I'm very proud to have participated in the 2006 conference. I am confident that we will definitely take part in all future endeavors. I strongly recommend this experience for any individual or organization.

My name is Brittaney Scott-Lenco and I am one of the young ladies who attend City High that was invited to the Governor's Conference for Women. I wanted to thank you for this valuable opportunity and interesting experience. I really learned a lot of information about different colleges, business, as well as breast cancer prevention research. My favorite part of the day was the elegant lunch and hearing Ms. Ellerbee speak. I learned that women do have strong support, as much as men do.

Thank you for the experience,
Brittanney Scott-Lenco
