Thank You for a Great Conference!

The power of women is truly amazing. When we come together, we can educate, enlighten, and inspire one another. That connection—and your participation—made the 2007 Pennsylvania Governor's Conference for Women a shining success.

Whether you came to connect, to learn, to share, or to network, we hope you left the conference with new ideas and new opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.

We'll be adding exciting new features to the website in the months ahead, and we'll keep you posted. In the meantime, meet our 2007 Be the Change winner and runners up or find a list of books by your favorite conference speakers.

As always, we invite and encourage your feedback (check below for the results of our Continental Airlines survey giveaway), and we hope that you'll join us for next year's Conference, on October 2, 2008, in Pittsburgh!

Connect With Your Community
This Holiday Season!
One of the most important goals of the Pennsylvania Governor's Conference for Women is to help our attendees connect with community involvement opportunities. This holiday season is especially important for local community organizations, as 50% of all charitable giving is done between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.

We've added a new section to the conference Web site featuring volunteer and donation opportunities for the organizations and initiatives of our conference participants (speakers, supporting organizations, and exhibitors), and we invite you to take a look—and get involved!

Find Your Work+Life Fit
by Cali Williams Yost

During the "Embracing the Chaos" session, conference panelist Cali Williams Yost shared her Work+Life "Fit" Roadmap, a step-by-step process to guide you to find the work+life "fit,"(not balance) that meets your needs as well as the needs of your job. She suggests using the roadmap every time you experience a large or small change in your personal or professional circumstances, and adjust where, when, and/or how you work to find that unique "fit" between work and the other important parts of your life.  A detailed walk through the roadmap can be found in Cali Williams Yost's book, Work+Life: Finding the Fit That's Right for You. How To Live Richly Ever After...
by Sharon Epperson

It's a conversation that most couples put off as long as they can. Most of them never get up the nerve to have it. Each person may have an imaginary version of the discussion — at many different times, in many different versions — in their head over the course of the years and the relationship. But it's devilishly difficult to find the right time, if there ever is a right time, to have the talk. It's the love handles talk. Read more >
